Kauai isn’t a nightlife destination, and we say that as a compliment — but when guests do want a proper night out, Nāmaka is where we send them. It opened in the heart of Kapaʻa in 2025 and quickly became the local favorite for a reason: tropically leaning steak and seafood, a full bar that takes its cocktail list seriously, and live Hawaiian music twice a week that turns dinner into an evening.
Come Wednesday or Friday if music is the draw — a relaxed mix of oldies and local island favorites starts as the sun goes down. The vegan and gluten-free options are genuinely thought through, not an afterthought, so it works well for mixed groups. It’s a short drive from the condos, easy enough to grab a rideshare or a cab back after a couple of mai tais.
Reservations are worth making, especially on music nights — it’s small enough that word has gotten around fast. Note that it’s closed Mondays and Sundays, so plan around that if it’s the one night out you’ve got circled.
